  • Finalists for the 2016 EnviroCom Awards

    Today Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber President Pat Neill officially announced the names of the Finalists for the 2016 EnviroCom Awards.

    The EnviroCom Awards Committee reviewed all of the entries and selected Finalists for each Award category.   Expert judges will now assess the work of these Finalists in terms of their innovation, replicability, environmental, social and economic benefits to their communities.  The Winners will be announced at the gala Awards Dinner on 10th November at the Royal Marine Hotel.
     
    Congratulating all those who submitted entries in this the tenth year of the Awards, Margaret Coles, DLR County Council Green Business Officer and a member of the EnviroCom Awards Committee stated that, “It is really encouraging to see  the range of  organisations that have submitted entries and the really impressive scope and scale of their environmental actions which will make the selection of winners a real challenge for the judges.

    Editor’s Notes
     
    Categories and Sponsors: The awards will be presented at the gala Awards Dinner on 10th November 2016. Finalists in each category receive two complimentary seats at the Awards Dinner courtesy of the five category sponsors.
     
    The Waste/Water category is supported by Repak Ltd and has two awards - ‘Best Example of Waste Prevention’ and ‘Best Example of Water Conservation’.
     
    The Energy category, which is supported by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, includes the ‘Best Example of Energy Management – Built Environment’ award and the ‘Best Example of Energy Management – Awareness, Practices and Behaviours’ award.
     
    The Environmental Protection Agency supports the Environmental Performance Category.
     
    The Engaging Communities in Environmental Projects category, which is supported by Amgen, will have two winners.
     
    Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber co-support the final category for Micro-Enterprises and Environmental Innovation.

    Chambers Ireland announces Shortlist for Excellence in Local Government Awards – DLR County Council shortlisted for 3 categories!

    • Sustaining the Arts – dlr Performing Arts Awards

    4th August 2016 - Chambers Ireland today announced the shortlist for the Excellence in Local Government Awards 2016 with a total of twenty three local authorities shortlisted over sixteen categories. 

    DLR Chamber are delighted to confirm that DLR County Council have been shortlisted under 3 Categories.

    Commenting on the announcement Pat Neill, President, DLR Chamber said, “DLR Chamber would like to congratulate Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council on being shortlisted for 3 Awards in the Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards. Being shortlisted for the Excellence in Local Government Awards highlights the commitment show by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown to our area.  In particular, we are delighted to see DLR County Council shortlisted under the Category of Sustainable Environment.      We are in our 10th year of running the Envirocom Awards working in partnership with DLR County Council, so this is great recognition of their vision.
