Today (20th August) Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Damien English T.D. launched a new €5.5m COVID19 Online Retail Scheme.
This new fund, which will be administered by Enterprise Ireland, is targeted at indigenous retails with a pre-existing online presence and will help them to enhance their digital capacity, drive online sales and grow their customer base both at home and internationally. Grants from the Scheme range from €10k-€40k, covering up to 80% of project costs.
Speaking at the launch Minister English said, “The Government has been listening to retailers across the country and it is clear that the COVID19 pandemic has made it an urgent priority for businesses to grow their online offering – for many retailers, this has been a long-term goal.”
“I know first-hand the difference grants such as these are making in hundreds of businesses throughout the country. Retailers are seizing the opportunity to significantly enhance their online shopfronts and complement their traditional presence.”
